The latest episode of Drag Race UK vs The World saw the elimination of Keta Minaj, a fan-favorite queen from Drag Race Holland. After a lackluster performance in the Snatch Game challenge, Keta found herself in the bottom two alongside Gothy Kendoll, a fellow UK queen. Ultimately, Keta was sent home in a controversial decision that left fans divided.
In an exclusive interview with Keta following her elimination, she opened up about her experience on the show and why she believes it was the right time for her to go home. Keta, who had previously won the Snatch Game on her original season with an impression of Sophie Anderson, struggled with her Fran Drescher portrayal this time around. She admitted that she didn’t have the jokes down and felt unprepared for the challenge.
When asked about the moment her performance went sideways, Keta revealed that it was right after RuPaul’s first question to her. She acknowledged that while her look was on point, her preparation fell short, leading to her downfall in the challenge. Despite feeling disappointed about her elimination, Keta expressed understanding of the judges’ decision and acknowledged that she would have excelled in future challenges.
One of the most surprising aspects of Keta’s elimination was Gothy Kendoll’s lack of fight to stay in the competition. During the Werk Room chats with Tia Kofi and Hannah Conda, Gothy reportedly did not plead to stay, which left Keta feeling frustrated. However, she also expressed happiness for Gothy being able to showcase herself more on the show.
In reflecting on her elimination, Keta offered a diplomatic response, stating that while she believed it was the right decision in terms of gameplay, personally, she would have preferred to stay longer to showcase her skills in upcoming challenges. Despite her early exit, Keta remained grateful for the opportunity to compete on Drag Race UK vs The World and showcase her talent to a global audience.
As the competition continues, fans can tune in to BBC Three and BBC iPlayer every Friday at 9pm GMT to see which queen will be crowned the ultimate winner of Drag Race UK vs The World.
