A fetish and kink platform has declared 2023 as the “Year of the Giantess,” revealing that the fetish for giant, powerful women has become the most searched fetish globally. Clips4Sale, an adult website, disclosed that “giantess” topped the list of popular search terms in nearly half of the US states, including Texas, California, and New York. Sales of “giantess” content have also surged by 36% this year.
A spokesperson for Clips4Sale, Avery Martin, explained that the fetishization of giant women reflects the current cultural climate. The giantess embodies both sexual desire and fear, representing an intensified version of what individuals seek but simultaneously having the ability to consume them. In recent years, as debates around masculinity and femininity, alphas and betas have dominated public discourse, women have increasingly occupied more space in the cultural imagination. This shift has led to a rise in interest in femdom content, with the giantess being the ultimate dominator.
The popularity of the giantess fetish extends beyond the kink and fetish world, permeating mainstream culture. The viral camera-angle trick known as “giant woman” has trended on TikTok, and even Taylor Swift portrayed a giant woman in her Anti-Hero music video. This widespread appeal highlights how giant women, whether portrayed as goddesses to be worshipped or aggressive and all-powerful figures, have gained recognition since Clips4Sale’s launch. This surge in popularity can be attributed to events like the #MeToo movement and women’s marches in 2017.
Since 2017, the rise of the giantess fetish has been meteoric, surpassing better-known fetishes like foot worship, smoking, and cuckolding. Clips4Sale emphasized the significant impact of the giantess fetish by stating, “We can’t stress just how big Giantess is.” The allure of this fetish lies in the themes of submission and helplessness. In a culture that increasingly fetishizes alpha male characteristics, giantesses offer an escape, providing a space to worship women free from the societal pressures imposed by the larger culture.
The runners-up in Clips4Sale’s fetish of the year awards were “vore” and “dollification.” The fetish of “vore” involves deriving pleasure from imagining eating someone or being eaten by another person. On the other hand, “dollification” entails transforming a person into a doll-like figure. These categories demonstrate the far-reaching influence and diversity within the world of fetishes, with Barbie’s impact even extending to adult desires.
Looking back at 2022, the fetish of the year was named as “pegging,” which experienced significant growth in popularity. Clips4Sale described pegging as one of the greatest success stories in internet history.
The declaration of 2023 as the Year of the Giantess sheds light on the evolving nature of human desires and fantasies. It reflects how societal changes and cultural shifts can shape sexual preferences and expressions. As society continues to grapple with discussions surrounding gender dynamics and power, the giantess fetish provides an avenue for exploration and escape, offering individuals a unique way to engage with their desires and fantasies.
