A recent study conducted in the UK has shed light on some interesting and perhaps surprising sexual behaviors among adults in the country. The research, commissioned by Durex and conducted by Opinium Research, surveyed 2,000 UK adults in January 2024, revealing some intriguing findings about the sexual activities of the population.
One of the most striking revelations from the study is that 20% of sexually active adults in the UK have engaged in sexual intercourse in the countryside. This statistic may come as a surprise to many, as outdoor sex is often considered taboo or unconventional. The study also found that one in six adults have participated in oral sex outdoors, while nearly one in ten have had anal sex in outdoor settings. Additionally, over one in ten adults who have experienced a threesome have done so in the countryside.
The findings of the study point to a trend of adventurous and daring sexual behavior among adults in the UK. It seems that many people are willing to explore their sexuality in unconventional and potentially risky settings, such as the great outdoors. This trend raises questions about societal attitudes towards sex and the ways in which individuals express their sexuality.
In addition to outdoor sex, the study also revealed some interesting insights into sexual behavior in other settings. For example, more than one in ten sexually active adults admitted to feeling aroused in the workplace, with 7% even confessing to having sex at work. The same percentage of respondents reported engaging in sexual activity in work toilets, highlighting the prevalence of workplace-related sexual encounters.
The study also identified other popular locations for sexual activity, including the beach, bars, pubs, nightclubs, hot tubs, and swimming pools. These findings suggest that many adults are open to exploring their sexuality in a variety of environments, not limited to traditional bedroom settings. The study also found that 9% of respondents have engaged in partnered masturbation in the cinema, while 7% have had a threesome while skiing.
The research also highlighted the influence of pop culture on sexual behavior, with references to a cult film that has sparked a surge in tourism to its filming location. The movie, set in Saltburn, has inspired fans to create products such as bath bombs and candles based on scenes from the film. The estate featured in the movie has become a popular destination for tourists seeking to experience the magic of the film firsthand.
Overall, the study provides valuable insights into the diverse and sometimes surprising ways in which adults in the UK express their sexuality. From outdoor sex to workplace encounters, the research paints a picture of a population unafraid to explore their desires and push boundaries when it comes to sexual activity. As societal attitudes towards sex continue to evolve, studies like these offer a glimpse into the complex and multifaceted nature of human sexuality.
