Icon Rylan Clark recently achieved a childhood dream by soaring to new heights as a member of Virgin Atlantic’s cabin crew. The popular television presenter and last year’s PinkNews Awards host fulfilled his “plan b” career aspiration by donning the iconic Vivienne Westwood uniform and joining the team in Economy on a flight from London Heathrow to Miami.
During the high-altitude training session at 38,000 feet, Rylan enthusiastically welcomed customers onboard, utilized his height to assist with stowing luggage, added his unique flair to the safety demonstration, mixed drinks from the trolley, and even distributed ice lollies mid-flight. Under the guidance of experienced cabin crew members Ombi Barham and James Cooper, Rylan learned the ins and outs of delivering personalized service while being put to the test to see if he could make the grade.
The entire in-flight experience was captured on film, showcasing Rylan’s infectious energy and charm as he interacted with passengers, made announcements over the PA system, and served up beverages with his signature style. Reflecting on the experience, Rylan expressed his excitement, stating, “I’ve always been obsessed with the idea of being cabin crew, so to have the opportunity to try and get my wings with Virgin Atlantic, and be taught by the best in the business, was literally a dream come true.”
