Former Mr Gay UK Dino Fetscher stars in new Netflix thriller Fool Me Once

Welsh actor Dino Fetscher, best known for his roles in LGBTQ+ series such as Banana and Cucumber, is making waves in the crime thriller genre with his latest role in the Netflix adaptation of Harlan Coben’s Fool Me Once. The eight-part series premiered on January 1st and has already garnered attention for its gripping storyline and talented cast.
In Fool Me Once, Fetscher plays the character of Marty McGregor, a junior partner to lead homicide investigator Sami Kierce, portrayed by Adeel Akhtar. The duo is tasked with unraveling the mystery surrounding the murder of Maya Stern’s (played by Michelle Keegan) husband, Joe. Maya, an ex-soldier, witnesses her husband’s murder on a nanny-cam in her own home, setting off a chain of events that will keep viewers on the edge of their seats.
Fetscher, born and raised in Cardiff, has had an impressive career in both film and television. After winning the title of Mr Gay UK in 2008, he transitioned into acting and quickly gained recognition for his talent. In 2015, he starred as Aiden in Russell T Davies’ LGBTQ+ series Banana and Cucumber, earning praise from Davies himself. Since then, Fetscher has appeared in notable productions such as Now You See Me 2, Humans, and the BBC drama Years and Years.
One of Fetscher’s most significant achievements was his role in Larry Kramer’s hit Aids drama, The Normal Heart, which earned him an Olivier Award nomination for best supporting actor in 2022. Fetscher’s talent and dedication to his craft have made him a rising star within the theater industry.
As an openly gay actor, Fetscher has been vocal about his experiences navigating the entertainment industry. In a 2015 interview with Attitude magazine, he discussed the pressure actors face to conceal their sexuality for fear of limited career opportunities.
