Season two of the BBC horror comedy series Wreck has finally announced its release date, much to the excitement of fans. The new season will continue to follow the journey of leading queer characters Jamie Walsh and Vivian Lim as they take on the corporate murder machine, Velorum.
In the first season, Jamie and Vivian narrowly escaped falling victim to Velorum’s brutal operations after suspecting the company’s involvement in the murder of Jamie’s sister, Pippa. Season two picks up in the aftermath of the disastrous voyage on the Sacramentum, with the crew determined to bring Velorum down.
The upcoming season will see Jamie, Vivian, and the rest of the crew going undercover to expose Velorum’s deadly dealings at an exclusive wellness festival for millionaires in rural Slovenia. As expected, blood will flow, lives will be lost, and the return of the slasher icon Duck promises campy and chaotic murders.
Wreck season two is set to premiere on Tuesday, March 26, with all episodes dropping on BBC iPlayer at 6am. The series will then air on BBC Three from 10pm on the same evening. Alongside Jamie and Vivian, familiar faces such as Olly, Rosie, Hamish, Sophia Leigh, Karen, Comac, Lauren, and Pippa will return for the new season.
Furthermore, new characters will join the crew, including Bradley Riches from Heartstopper and Celebrity Big Brother fame, Alan Dale, Shaheen Jafargholi, Sam Buttery, and Niamh Walsh. Show creator Ryan J Brown emphasized the importance of having queer lead characters whose identities are not central to the storylines, aiming to showcase a different narrative rarely seen on British TV.
The new season promises to deliver more thrills, suspense, and unexpected twists as Jamie, Vivian, and their crew navigate through dangerous waters to take down Velorum once and for all. With a diverse cast and a unique approach to LGBTQ+ representation, Wreck season two is shaping up to be a must-watch for fans of horror-comedy series.
Stay tuned for the premiere of Wreck season two on March 26, and catch up on season one available now on BBC iPlayer. Get ready for a rollercoaster ride of horror, humor, and queer representation unlike anything seen before on British television.
