Drag Race UK star Tia Kofi is about to make her mark on the famous little village of Chester as she joins the cast of E4’s Hollyoaks. Known for her incredible dancing, singing, and runway skills, Tia is now ready to showcase her acting chops as she takes on the role of a sexy villain, upstaging resident drag queen Anita Tinkle.
Tia’s appearance on the beloved soap has been highly anticipated, especially since she revealed that she was a massive Hollyoaks superfan before landing the role. “I had a wonderful time on set filming Hollyoaks,” she shared. “Considering the fact that I ran a Hollyoaks fan club at school, this was a really surreal moment for me.” Tia also hinted that she would love to become a semi-regular cast member, ideally playing a new member of the McQueen family.
Meanwhile, actor Ross Adams, who plays Anita Tinkle, expressed his excitement about working with Tia. “I’m a huge fan of Drag Race and Tia Kofi was amazing in season 2, so I was so excited when I met her for the first time,” he gushed. Ross also praised Tia’s character and outfit, describing her as a fabulous and glamorous elf with cute pigtails.
Tia’s appearance on Hollyoaks marks an iconic next step in her drag career, following in the footsteps of fellow Drag Race UK star Danny Beard. Danny, who won season four of Drag Race UK and made history as the first bearded winner of the franchise, also had a cameo in Hollyoaks earlier this year. He appeared in a two-part special centered around lesbian characters Peri and Juliet, offering them a ride back home after they lost their possessions.
Reflecting on his unexpected soap opera experience, Danny said, “Did I ever think I’d be in a soap, playing myself in drag, driving a drag wagon from Brighton to Chester to help two teenage lesbians while one of them has got cancer? No, I didn’t. But I’m very proud to be a part of it. It’s camp, crazy, and cuckoo.”
Fans of Tia Kofi can catch her in action on Hollyoaks via Channel 4 on Tuesday or watch the live episode on E4 on Wednesday at 7pm. It’s bound to be a dramatic and memorable appearance that showcases Tia’s charisma, uniqueness, nerve, and talent.
As Tia Kofi transitions from the RuPaul’s Drag Race runway to the Hollyoaks set, her fans are eagerly awaiting her performance. With her incredible talent and infectious personality, there’s no doubt that Tia will bring the drama and captivate audiences with her portrayal of a sexy villain. And she’s not alone in making the leap from Drag Race to Hollyoaks, as Danny Beard has already paved the way for drag queens on the long-running TV show.
Tia’s love for Hollyoaks and her superfan status make this opportunity even more special for her. She is excited to join the cast as a semi-regular member and hopes to bring a new McQueen into the mix. As she dons her fabulous elf outfit and showcases her acting skills, Tia is ready to stun viewers with her performance.
Ross Adams, who plays Anita Tinkle, is equally thrilled to work with Tia. He admires her talent on Drag Race and was excited to meet her in person. Despite playing rivals on screen, Ross found working with Tia to be a joyous experience. He praised her character and outfit, noting that Tia brought a touch of Britney Spears to her glamorous elf look.
Tia’s appearance on Hollyoaks follows in the footsteps of Danny Beard, who made history as the first bearded winner of Drag Race UK. Danny’s cameo on the show was part of a special episode that focused on lesbian characters Peri and Juliet. As Danny offered them a ride back home, he couldn’t help but marvel at the unexpected turn his career had taken.
Now, it’s Tia’s turn to shine on Hollyoaks. With her infectious personality and undeniable talent, she is sure to captivate audiences and leave a lasting impression. Fans can tune in to Channel 4 or E4 to see Tia in action and witness her transformation from Drag Race superstar to Hollyoaks actress. It’s a journey that highlights the versatility and talent of drag performers and their ability to conquer new stages.
